Apply now Here are the fantastic lead artists that will be teaching and collaborating with the participants during the week. Find out a little more about them, why they love what they do, and why they are excited about Global Collective: Dermot Daly (Lead Artist - Theatre) Dermot works across art forms as an award winning performer and creative with a particular focus on inclusivity and participation. I love drama and acting because it's all about storytelling and making sense of the world around us. Leah Francis (Artist - Theatre) Leah is a youth theatre practitioner, performer, director and co-founder of Speak Woman Speak theatre collective. I love theatre because you can use it as a form of social justice and you can express yourself and have fun at the same time. Christella Litras (Artist - Music) Christella is a songwriter, musician, composer, vocal arranger, record producer, mentor and founding member of Caution Collective. This project is amazing. It's a safe space for young people to enter, share their skills and learn new skills and make new connections. Ella Mesma (Artist - Dance) Ella is a dance artist, teacher and choreographer based in Leeds. She is the director of Ella Mesma Company and her work has been commissioned for Sadler’s Wells (Wild Card). It's such an honour to be a part of this team of incredible artists, to be a part of this journey of sharing all of our styles and our skills with you and coming together as artists to create something that maybe can't be defined as one style or one thing but just is an incredible piece of art. Simon Powell (Artist - Creative Media) Simon is a sound and video designer, working in the performing arts. He also works as a lecturer in theatre design, production and screen audio in Leeds. I'm really looking forward to working with you in the Summer, and through Global Collective, together gaining new perspectives of the world through our collaboration of artistic practices and cultures.
