What's On The Big Give Christmas Challenge We are excited to announce that we have been selected to take part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2021, the UK’s largest match-funding campaign. We are generously being supported by the Four Acre Trust, so all donations to the Geraldine Connor Foundation between Tuesday 30th November – Tuesday 7th December 2021 will be DOUBLED! Please note: You must donate through The Big Give campaign page, not our website between 30th November - 7th December for your donation to be doubled. Donate One donation, twice the impact. We believe that all young people deserve the opportunity to engage with arts and culture. We work hard to make sure that everyone is able to access our projects and amplify the voices of talented, Leeds-based artists. Our projects start from an African-Caribbean perspective, but everyone is welcome. Thanks to your support, we are able to empower young people through projects like Sol III - Jam Around The Table. Over the years, we have seen how our work in the arts has positively impacted the mental health of our young participants, and with Sol III – Jam Around the Table, we want to take that even further. We have given our artists mental health training to help create an environment where young people can be together, talk and participate in different creative activities, enabling them to understand their own mental health and how to take care of it. We are encouraging the young people to advocate for themselves and others and reduce the stigma around seeking support for mental health concerns. After the last 18 months of isolation, uncertainty and loss, the mental health and wellbeing of so many young people has been negatively impacted. We know that taking part in arts activities develops talent, builds confidence, allows young people to express themselves and connect with each other. By donating during the Christmas Challenge, you will be empowering young people right now, allowing them to access the arts on their terms, while learning skills to fulfil their potential. We need your help. We are raising vital funds to continue our work of providing opportunities to young people and artists in Leeds. We have an ambitious target of £4,000 to raise over the week (so £2,000 that will be matched by our generous Champions!) and we can’t do it alone! With your support and generosity we will be able to reach our target, so please consider donating. All of the money raised will go towards our valuable work of providing arts opportunities to young people. This year, we have seen how responsive, inclusive and ambitious the arts and culture in Leeds can be – help us do more! With you support we can work with more artists and reach more young people. We can introduce cultural experiences that improve their lives, give them outlets of expression, and lifelong transferable skills to open the door for a career in the culture sector (and beyond!). You can help nurture the next generation of Leeds artists by donating today. Every donation helps, no matter how small. Thanks to the match-funding, if you donate £5, we will receive £10. Donate now and help provide opportunities to more young people across Leeds. Every donation helps, no matter how small. If you are not in the position to support us financially right now, please share our campaign with your friends and family to let as many people as possible know about the #ChristmasChallenge21!
