The Geraldine Connor Foundation supports the development of talent from different artforms and cultures. It is important for artists to develop both creative and business skills to survive. Continuing professional development is an important aspect of any artist’s progression.

This is why we’ve teamed up with the Prince’s Trust to host a week of activity to give emerging artists practical and helpful advice that will help develop professional and practical skills crucial for working in the creative sector.

You will be given the opportunity to work with staff and volunteers from the Princes Trust who have specialist knowledge on setting up a business, managing being self-employed and potentially give you start up funds if you have a good creative business idea!

There is also room in the week for more activity, so if there is something particular you need help with or want to do; CV writing, understanding funding, budgeting, gain feedback on your new work, space to explore an idea, collaboration time, inspirational talk, how to deliver a workshop, take part in a specialist class.

If you are an emerging artist and would like to attend this course, you will need to commit to attending an information session and the full week in July:

Monday 2nd July, 2pm at GCF Offices – Information session (1 hour)

Monday 16th July – Friday 20th July at Leeds City College, Park Lane Campus (10am – 4pm each day)

We are going to spend time investing in you as artistic entrepreneurs, so we need to have your full attention for a week.

There is no financial charge only that you spend your time, the most precious commodity with us.

Want to get involved? Please email Selina at to find out how.
